NEPHILIM LORE

I. History and Origin

Nephilim are demonic-like beings that come from a now extinct race of angels. It is believed in what records could be recovered that when the world was created, originally there were angelic beings which served the gods as their first creations. However, the gods found them to be too perfect to garner enough interest, so they tried again and this time created man. With man came imperfection and sin. The angelic beings attempted to regulate their sin from a distance so as to not lower themselves, but that changed when they saw the daughters of man.

Overcome by passion, the angelic beings laid with the daughters of man, forming a new race of beings which would come to be known as the Cheraphilim and Nephilim. For their acts, the angelic beings were wiped out by the gods, leaving only their children to roam the Earth. These children were unlike their peers, though, and quickly became heroes of legend. It is speculated that some of these children were among the great Greek and Babylonian heroes such as Hercules, Gilgamesh, and Achilles. These are even referenced in the current day Bible as the Nephilim. Most cultures have stories of extraordinary heroes which belongs to these two groups.

The differences between the two comes from their view on the gods. Cheraphilim believe that if they do righteous and good work for those around them and in the world, they may one day ascend back into favor of the gods. Many Cheraphilim seen in modern times are viewed as guardian angels by the humans who believe. Nephilim on the other hand believe in the polar opposite. They see the gods as corrupt and cruel. Their desire is to grow in power and live despite the gods, ignoring their existence and attempting to lead humans away from their perceived slights. Many Nephilim seen in modern times are viewed as demonic spirits by the humans who believe.

II. Appearance

Nephilim are normally slightly taller than the average human, standing at 6-7 feet tall when full grown depending on their sex. They are commonly considered very handsome men and very beautiful women due to their angelic ancestors. The vast majority of Nephilim have darker hair colors.

Along with this, Nephilim can produce their True Form to get red skin with deep red eyes. When a Nephilim completes their first selfish act of defiance against the gods, they will grow horns while in their True Form.

III. Becoming a Nephilim

Nephilim are created through genetics, though the line has been diluted over centuries of humans breeding with other humans. They are born randomly from a specific DNA strand left in their genetic line that can trace all the way back to the first angelic beings. Once they are born they will not show any signs of being different until around puberty.

The changes that happen through their body at this time activates the DNA strand dormant in the genes and begins the process. Even though it may start at as early as 13, a Nephilim won't fully mature until the ages of 17-24. Once fully matured, a Nephilim will take their unholy denouncement of the gods on top of a pentagram, and they will become a full Nephilim.

NEPHILIM GUIDELINES

I. Fledgling Nephilim

Prestidigitation: A general purpose spell that lasts one hour which is used with simple hand movement to accomplish a variety of small tasks such as:
Creating an illusion object that can fit in the caster's hand
Creating or dismissing a small tuft of fire such as a match or fireplace
Creating a small light to float above the caster much like a lantern
Unlocking a non-magic mechanical lock on a door or object
Changing the color or design of an object
Creating a harmless sensory effect such as an odd odor, sparks, or a musical note

[li]Possesses enhanced strength and durability with peak human speed (0.5 ton strength and durability; Olympic sprinter speed)

[li]Able to produce their True Form which consists of growing horns (if applicable) and normally red skin with red eyes.[/li]

This form can be used to strike fear in creatures, forcing them to be frightened or retreat until out of eyesight. Continuous use in a short period of time against the same person will dull the effect it has on said person.
Cheraphilim and Ghosts are immune to this

[li]Able to produce hell-fire which is black or purple in nature, and can burn through most objects that are non-magical or organic.[/li]

This fire is magical in nature as it causes those who are burned by it to also relive painful memories and possibly hallucinations, depending on the severity, until healed.
Hell-fire cannot be thrown and will only surround a Nephilim's hands or feet, meaning touch is required.

[li]Demonic Curse: When they make physical contact with another person, they can imbue the person with hell fire, weakening the person's strength and durability by 0.5 ton for 10 minutes. It takes 30 minutes to generate enough hell fire for this ability to be performed again.[/li]
[li]Demonic Empowerment: When they make physical contact with a weapon, they can imbue the weapon with hell fire, granting said weapon with the attribute of Super Heated for 10 minutes. It takes 30 minutes to generate enough hell fire for this ability to be performed again.[/li]
[li]Capable of performing basic telekinesis of objects smaller than 25lbs[/li]
[li]Enhanced healing

Nephilim can regenerate from their injuries in less than half the time it would take for a normal human to recover.

[li]Able to absorb the pain others are feeling through physical touch[/li]

This is similar to a powerful pain-reliever to soothe those in incredible amounts of pain

II. Mature Nephilim
