HYBRID LORE
I. History and Origin
Hybrids are a completely new species spawning from the conflict between Pinegrove and the Original Vampire and Werewolf, Romulus and Remus. The two brothers targeted Pinegrove academy as a potential way to create a new species known as a hybrid. They studied the school for some time beforehand until they felt they were prepared to initiate their plans. They captured two students; a vampire named Maeve and a werewolf named Sebastian. After retrieving a chosen student named Cordell, they began the ritual under the light of the blood moon. All of the Chosen magic was drained from Cordell and bound into Sebastian and Maeve. Thus the two students became the first two hybrids in existence.
Following this, Romulus and Remus attempted to perform this ritual on themselves, but were thwarted by the students of Pinegrove Academy. Even though the two brothers were defeated, their followers were not. Instead, they made a quick escape with their knowledge gathered and began spreading the ritual to create Hybrids across the world. Over the summer after the first incident, more and more cases of Hybrid rituals began to appear, thus cementing the new race into the lore of the mythical.

II. Appearance
Hybrids look similar to normal humans the majority of the time. However, when they are hungry their eyes will adopt an orange glow and their teeth with extend into fangs. Being a hybrid also means they have a transformation form that they can summon from time to time.
Their second form is called a half-transformation. In this form they look majority human, except for a few wolf-like features. Their nails become sharp claws along with their teeth becoming sharp canines. Their eyes will have a glowing hue and their body will adopt a more bestial face with hair partially covering their body. Their ears will also come to a point, though they will retain a skin exterior over it.

III. Becoming a Hybrid

Each of the three species must stand under their own ritual circle and when the blood moon's light falls on them it will activate the ritual. The chosen's power will be drained and absorbed into the vampire and werewolf respectively. After that is done, the vampire must be bit by a werewolf and the werewolf must ingest some blood from a vampire.
Once completed, the vampire and werewolf will both become a hybrid pair and will be bounded to one another for the rest of their time on Earth. This is a process that cannot be undone and some see it as a perversion of the two pure species.
