LICH LORE
I. History and Origin
Liches have been around as long as spellcasters due to their intimate relationship with the like. Known as skeletal undead men, Liches are known throughout cultures as a being associated with the omen of death as in their skeletal form they resemble what modern culture call the Grim Reaper. The first Lich was recorded in biblical times as Lazarus risen from the dead. Though the miracle was attributed to Jesus, it is unsure weather this was religious speculation, or if Christ was some how able to transition Lazarus into a Lich
It is said that the sight of a Lich will bring about death, though it is mostly misinterpreted. Instead, a Lich will warn of death, but seldom kills for itself. Liches have also been mistaken for demons, necromancers, and cultists due to their other abilities. While Necromancers do not actually exist, it is high speculated among mythic scholars that the term was created due to humans seeing or experiencing the capabilities of a Lich.

II. Appearance
Liches have two forms that they are able to take part in. Liches consist only of males and their normal look resembles that of a normal human with the exception of one key feature. No matter the age or race of the Lich, they always have silky white hair.
In their second form they take the shape of a Skeletal Lich. When this occurs, the Lich will fully take the appearance of that of a skeleton. It will have a bellowing black robe and it's eyes will be glowing green. Most Liches in this form also gain a bone scythe to direct their magical capabilities.

III. Becoming a Lich
Liches are unable to reproduce, so they are not technically born. Instead, Liches are formed when a male spellcaster has a traumatic near-death experience. Once their heart stops beating, should they be resuscitated, they have a chance of coming back as a Lich. This is a rare occurrence, but when it happens the spellcaster will wake up unable to use their old magic form. Instead in the days to come, they will begin to adopt the Lich's abilities. One of the first noticeable differences is the spellcasters hair slowly turning white.
The level of power the lich has is directly correlated to the level of power the spellcaster was at before their near-death experience. Fledgling Liches will grow in power to Mature Liches, but that normally correlates with the age range of 17-24. Once that age is reached, the once spellcaster will feel their power grow and unlock into new abilities to utilize.
